Last week I finished the 3 pieces that I am entering for the 6x 9 Open Studios exhibition, and took them to the Box Office. It’s called 6×9 as all the pieces must be 6×9 inches. It’s always difficult to get my work to exactly the right size – it stretches and shrinks as I collage, and add new layers and then stitch them. I think they are close enough.
Diane has just put them into the portfolio so do have a look . I am quite pleased with them, especially Landscape in Spring 3. You can see a detail of this at the top of the blog. I am exploring ways of becoming more abstract and less detailed.
I am now in the process of hand stitching the other work in progress Landscape in Spring 2. This is inspired by the views from Coneys Castle near Whitchurch Canonicorum. I have the afternoon free so I am intending to make real progress, sadly I can’t do this stitching while watching television- I have to pay attention.
