I’ve been experimenting, playing around with composition and colour to make entirely new kind of work.

Still Life 1

I did a lot of experimental dyeing and printing in 2015 using a range of methods including breakdown printing. This resulted in delicious vibrant fabrics in oranges, turquoises and bright pinks and blues. I didn’t know what to do with them at the time. In 2016 I was inspired to create a new series of miniature pieces- just 10 x 10cm and 12 x 12 cms. I call them  Still Lives.  These  are collages depicting jugs and mugs and pots, on brightly patterned cloths. I enjoy making them and people like them so I continue to create them.

In fact I have just made another 8 of these Still Life miniatures plus some cards ready for Bridport Open Studios
